Autism is a developmental disorder that makes it difficult to communicate with others. Today it affects 1 in every 88 newborn children, a number on the rise from 1 in 120 less than 15 years. This makes it the most commonly diagnosed disorder/disease in children today. Autism Speaks works to fund research for, spread education about, and provide assistance to people and families affected by Autism.
Our team of 11 was started just a couple short weeks before the 2010 Walk Now for Autism Speaks Walk of Chicago. Though we had little time to prepare, we pulled it off! We all had a blast, and were all moved by the amazing experience. Our team raised over $700. In the 2011 walk, we raised about $1500. This year's walk is May 12th, and we hope to double that number again! Please share this page with your friends! Any donations would be greatly appreciated and can either be made in person with one of the team members, or online at the website in our "About." Autism Speaks, it's time to listen.
